Erg Challenge: Indoor rowing competition for all ages and levels of experience

Everyone is welcome to participate in this awesome event, to be held April 5th at Canal Fitness gym (5524 St-Patrick suite 150). 

The competition will consist of a 4x500m team relay as well as two individual events, the 1000m and the 500m. Rowers of all abilities are welcome, and participants may compete in one event or all four! Refreshements, friendly competition and even races for the 7-11 year old 'future olympians' - this event promises to be a great kickoff to the 2009 paddling season. As you may know, nine women from the Montreal Dragon Boat Club are also a part of the Canadian National Premier Women's Dragon Boat team. They are, Annie Larivière, Caroline Beaudet, Elena Studentsova, Geneviève Fournier, Helen Chan, Jen Smolak, Julie Racine, Marie-Pascale Guay and Melanie Veillette. The athletes named to the national team will compete at the 2009 World Dragon Boat Championships in Prague, Czech Republic in August.  This indoor rowing competition is being organized by these women and the proceeds will support their efforts in defending Canada's title at the world championships.  

Encourage these women and their hard work by coming out to ERG!

Défi d'aviron en salle: Compétition de rameur intérieur pour tous

Nous vous invitons à participer en grand nombre à l'évenement « Défi d’aviron en salle » qui aura lieu le 5 avril 2009 de 8h30 à 14h au Canal Fitness (5524 St-Patrick suite 150).

Deux courses individuelles auront lieu soit 1000m et 500m (Catégories hommes et femmes séparées), ainsi que deux courses en équipes (catégorie homme / femmes et mixte) où 4 rameurs courseront 500m chacun pour un temps combiné. Les rameurs de tous les niveaux de débutant à expert sont bienvenus et peuvent participer, selon leur choix, à une seule ou bien  les quatre courses! Les fond amassés apporteront support aux athlètes de 22Dragons qui font parti de l'équipe féminine Canadienne de Bateau-Dragon en quête de l’OR au jeux mondiaux de Dragon Boat 2009 qui se tiendront à Prague, République Tchèque. Le club de bateau dragon de Montreal compte parmi ses membres  9 athlètes qui font partie de la sélection de cette équipe - ces filles sont Annie Larivière, Caroline Beaudet, Elena Studentsova, Geneviève Fournier, Helen Chan, Julie Racine, Jen Smolak, Marie-Pascale Guay et Melanie Veillette.
